Down, down, down...

174.

It's 84 degrees out now. I think I'm just melting off water weight - but, like I've said before - I'LL TAKE IT!!

Strangely, the closer I get to my old stomping ground weight, the BIGGER I feel. I've decided it's because I'm trying to force my body into my old clothes even though I'm not quite there yet. Also, I can see a little more clearly what the slimmer me will look like. Motivating and deflating all at the same time. I feel like I've lost a lot but still have quite a way to go...37 pounds and counting!

Scale's amovin' again

Down at 176 this morning. At one point, the numbers just kind of paused at 174 but then I think it jumped up when my chin fell and hit the scale. I thought it was going to take longer to get below 177 (or to even see it again). Amazing what being sick and not eating for 2 days will do!

I really can't wait to get to 169. It can't happen fast enough! Is it bad to wish more sickness upon myself? Yes. Yes, I think it is. Still...

Despite what the scale said today

I'm claiming 177.

I saw it the morning after we arrived back from vacation. Now, the scale hasn't read below 179 since then, but I don't care. I could have been severely dehydrated. I still don't care. I'm just not going to post another weight until it's below 177. So there.

I've heard that some people use averages - like if they're weighing in between 177 and 184 they'll say they are 180. I desperately hang onto the lowest number I see and refuse to believe any of the higher numbers.

Does anyone use the HIGHEST number? Are there other options?

Skiing in Breckenridge

At 178 I weighed less than my dad. No huge embarrassment with him at the ski rental counter. Funny what motivates...

Hot Damn!

Were my exact words when I stepped on the scale this morning to see 179. Math was never my strong suit, but 179 and 180 HAVE to be more than just a one pound difference.

This past week I've been really good about logging my food - I downloaded a free iPhone app called Lose It that's made it really easy. And, because I'm geeky, fun. I've kept my calories at or below 1319 and exercised almost every day. I factor the exercise into the calorie count just like the WW Exercise Points.

I went on an interview last week and was able to fit into my old work clothes - although not quite as easily as I used to. I was able to breath in my Ann Taylor size 12 suit.

This is the last week before the ski trip - we leave on Sunday - so I'm hoping to keep losing at a decent rate.

The scale and I are on speaking terms...

Monday I weighed in at 181 - that's 30 lbs down! I'm starting to really see a difference in how I feel. Much less frump involved.

Here's a photo timeline of the de-plump-ifying:

December 16, 2008 - 188

October 26 2008 - 193

Ooof, a setback

I'm back up to 183. There's been much scowling at the scale and taking it personally.

The fact that I've been eating calorie-laden granola like no tomorrow...eh, it was bound to happen. I'm hoping to get under 180 by Feb 8th so I'll just have to watch it a little bit more.

I have been good about exercising - walking almost daily and 2 spin classes last week. On my way back for more today.

I just have to keep thinking that I'm in it for the long haul.

But, I'm still a little pissed off at the stupid scale.
